Pakistan & India fought 3 wars because of this issue and this issue is still unsolved .
If we go to the history of disputed state . The full name of state is " State Jammu & Kashmir" is normally called just " Kashmir ".
State have 6 major parts
1. Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
2. Gilgit Baltistan.
3. Kashmir Valley .
4. Jammu.
5. Kargil.
6. Ladakh.
7. Aksai Chin
In 1947 at the time of Indo-Pak Partition . State Jammu & Kashmir was a Princely State like some other states for e.g. Balochistan , Heyderabad, Bhawalpur, Jonagarh etc. A free choice was given to the princely states they can join India, Pakistan or stay independent .
State Jammu & Kashmir had Assembly & Army State was Completely Independent in Interior & Exterior Affairs.
Maharaja of Kashmir Decided to stay Independent . According to the history books by Pakistani Authors " India Attacked to Kashmir and tried to occupy the state, than Pakistani Jihadies Tribal Pathans Interred in Kashmir to help Kashmirs because most of State population was Muslims and they dont want to to merge in India. That was the flash point this war started from there. Pakistani Jihadies Acquired a lot of area from Kashmir valley. After Pakistan Declared a free state in that part named "Azad Jammu & Kashmir".
According to Indian Authors Pakistan Attacked in Jammu & Kashmir to Occupy they state when Maharaja's State Army was not able to protect the state Maharaja asked for help to India , Than Indian Army Interredin the state to protect the state from Pakistan.
After Pakistan Sent his army to Jammu & Kashmir. India took the case in "Security council".
United Nations Passed Resolutions that both India & Pakistan will remove their forces from the region & Kashmirs will decide that which country than will join or they want to stay independent.
This was a short history of the conflict . Now it is more than 70 years India & Pakistan are agreed to remove the Army from Kashmir. And there is a LINE OF CONTROL between Indian Occupied Kashmir & Pakistani Occupied kashmir. Every Day there is Cross border fire between Indian & Pakistan in disputed Kashmir Region. Both sides of Line of control Kasmires are suffering.
What was Article 370 ?
In Maharaja's state nobody out side of State can buy Land in the state .
Only kashmiries were eligible for govt sector jobs in the state.
State had a right to make constitution .
state had a Separate Flag .
FLAG FOR GILGIT BALTISTAN
STATE FLAG FOR INDIAN CONTROLLED JAMMU & KASHMIR
Now what India did ???
Why Kashmir is Flashing Again ???
India Removed Article 370 & 35A from the constitution & revoked the special status for Jammu & Kashmir State .
Now Indians from any part of india will be eligible to buy land in J&K .
There is no more special state status .
No more separate flag for J&K.
J&K will be the part of Indian union like other parts with a legislation Assembly .
Ladakh will be the Part of indian union without Assembly.
If we discus about Pakistani controlled Kashmir (Azad Kashmir).
State subject is still applicable there.
Gilgit Baltistan is a Part of Princely Jammu & Kashmir. But is controlled by Pakistan and is administrated in a Provencal Status.
Govt of Pakistan have already revoked the state subject in the Gilgit Baltistan Region.
There is only a Legislative Assambly.
Lets go towards solution.
Since 1947 Kashmiries are sacrificing there rights and seeking for dispute solution, if we talk about whole state of Jammu & Kashmir . Majority of public dont want to stay or merge with India and there is a different ratio for merger with Pakistan or stay independent.
According to UN resolutions Kashmiries have a right to plebiscite and decide their future . But from 1947 to until today both India & Pakistan claims Jammu & Kashmir as their part.
Pakistan is claiming as a "Shahrag".
Inida is claiming as a "Atoot Ang".
Both of them don't want to ask Kashmiri Peoples that "What they want ?"
In this situation the solution is only "Table Talk" which is not proved fruitful until today.
Or other solution is "War" . Which is not favorable to India nor Pakistan. Even war is not in the favor of Kashmiri Peoples also. Because both Pakistan & India are Nuclear Countries, war will result only disaster.
There is one more option which can be acceptable & is in the favor of both India & Pakistan which is "Partition".
Its seems like world Powers also wants this solution to solve the longtime dispute.
But still there would be a question ..............!!!!
Should Kashmiries accept this solution ???
What about their blood & Sacrifices ???
Is it possible to maintain peace in both divided parts of Kashmir???
